It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's PEATON MAN!

Yes, the Pedestrians' Super Hero ( "Peaton" is "pedestrian" in Spanish) has taken an extra long walk from Ecuador to Spain to help promote pedestrian rights in Sevilla, and our friends at Peatones de Sevilla (Sevilla Pedestrians) have put together this short film about his efforts. For the non-Spanish speakers, I've thrown in a translation after the jump.

Pedestrian Man in Sevilla!

Sevilla, a very special city where people love to walk, but where there is also a very big problem: people want to drive everywhere.

We are the city in Spain with the third highest number of vehicles per person!

The group Peatones de Sevilla (Sevilla Pedestrians) has formed to try to solve this problem.

If we want a healthier, more sustainable, safer city, we need the help of ...Pedestrian Man!

Pedestrian Man receives a call for help in Quito, his hometown.

Ok, tomorrow I'll take a plane to Sevilla.

Once in Sevilla, Pedestrian Man gets to work.

Respect the rules of the road.

"Walkers, use the crosswalk."

"Bicyclists, use the bike lanes, the sidewalks are for pedestrians"

Oooh Nooo! Many drivers don't obey the rules of the road.

Respect the sidewalks and the pedestrian pathways.

Don't drive faster than the speed limit.

The Declaration of Pedestrian Rights

"Pedestrians have the right to live in a place that pays attention to the needs of people"

"And remember"

To improve our city, walk, bike and use public transportation.
